Whether you have a consultation in person or over the phone, it’s important for the attorney to have all the relevant information available in order to have an effective consultation. Here is a general list of what we ask you to have available at the time of the consult.
For a Criminal Law (traffic tickets, misdemeanors, felonies) consultation, please complete our Master Intake Form (can be provided electronically) prior to your appointment. Also, it would be helpful to have the following:
- A copy of your traffic citation, ticket, summons, etc.
- A copy of all papers you received from jail intake
- Names and addresses of all witnesses
- Any audio or video recordings
For a Family Law (Child Custody, Child Support, Property Division, Alimony, Divorce) consultation, please complete our Master Intake Form (can be provided electronically) prior to your appointment. Also, it would be helpful to have the following:
- Names and addresses of the opposing party
- Name and address of Opposing Counsel and all correspondences
- A copy of any settlement attempts
- Any relevant documentation related to the breakup of the marriage
- Your version of a reasonable custody schedule
- List of assets and debts
- A copy of the following financial documents:
- Last 3 years of taxes for both parties
- Last 3 months of pay stubs for both parties
- Last 3 months of bank statements for both parties
- Last 3 months of expenses including:
- Utility bills
- Auto loan payments
- Personal/business loan payments
- Mortgage payments
- Cell phone bills
- Car insurance payments
